Feet on Faith

 Confidence

Faith with feet on it.

Our daily walk has been mired with struggles. Today is an example of a tough day. This morning at 6:26 Wade woke up in severe pain. He begged me to switch the lead on his gastric stimulator. He was experiencing acid reflux and stomach pain. Friday morning he had a test gastric stimulator placed in his stomach. Actually they placed two sites in his stomach. One distal (down) and one proximal (upper). The endoscopy went well. They did notice he had mild esophagitis. Only one of the sites is plugged in at a time. The distal was the first one they connected. So yesterday we switched to the proximal lead. It was fine until he woke up this morning. He had almost instant relief when I switched them back.

We went to get his drink and to run an errand this morning. Somewhere halfway through the ride his stomach started hurting again. By the time we got home he was in a panic. I gave him anxiety medicine. He was shaking and crying. I was worried it might be shock. I silently prayed for him.

I got him to bed and he requested For King and Country and Andrew Peterson videos on YouTube. We talked about the songs and their meanings. Those songs helped him to calm down.

His Mentor called and I talked with him to give an update. It was so encouraging. He told me that we have struggled through so much, but we have kept the faith. He said we are examples of putting feet on faith.

I love my Jesus, and I cannot imagine life without walking daily with him. Today I took my daily reading time as usual and I’m so grateful that I had that time with Jesus, so I was able to drop my plans and just breathe beside Wade.

This year my word of the year is two words, Rest & War. Sabbath rest and prayer warrior. Today was both in one.
